Three Printable Card Decks to Choose From
Our printable playing cards are available in three different PDF versions, so you can choose the deck that works best for you. Each PDF contains a complete standard deck of 52 cards, with four suits, hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades – and cards ranging from 2 to Ace.
The first version features compact cards with slightly rounded corners, giving them more of a traditional playing-card appearance. The second uses rectangular cards with straight edges and aligned cutting lines, making the deck particularly easy to cut out. There is also a black-and-white version designed for anyone who wants to save colored ink or only has access to a monochrome printer.
All three decks fit onto just three sheets of A4 paper.
How to Print and Make Your Cards
Download your preferred PDF and open it using a PDF reader or your browser. For the intended card size, print the document at 100% or choose “Actual size” in your printer settings rather than scaling it to fit the page.
After printing, simply cut along the lines around each card. Regular scissors work perfectly well, although a paper cutter can make the process considerably quicker, particularly with the rectangular version.
For a more durable deck, consider printing on thicker paper or lightweight cardstock. Another option is to print on ordinary paper and laminate the sheets before cutting out the individual cards.
What Can Printable Playing Cards Be Used For?
A printable deck can be useful whenever you need playing cards but do not have a regular deck available. They are convenient for holidays, classrooms, parties, camping trips and other occasions where you would rather not bring or risk losing a good deck of cards.
Printable cards can also be useful for crafts and educational activities. Children can use them for practicing numbers, sorting, counting and simple arithmetic. Because the cards are free to print, you can also write on them or modify them for your own games without worrying about damaging a deck.
Card Games to Try
Despite their smaller size, these cards can be used for most games that require a standard 52-card deck. Try a simple game of Go Fish, Crazy Eights, War or Old Maid with children. A complete deck also makes it possible to play classics such as Poker, Blackjack, Rummy and Solitaire.
You could even invent your own card game or use the deck to teach children the rules of traditional card games.
Tips for a Better Printable Deck
For the best results, use reasonably sturdy paper and make sure your printer is producing the cards at their original size. If you plan to shuffle the cards frequently, thicker paper will make a noticeable difference.
You can also give your deck a homemade card back. Before cutting, draw or print the same pattern on the reverse side of each sheet. This prevents players from identifying cards from the back while also turning your printable deck into something a little more personal.
